EYE OF GYRE にて、旅をテーマとした作家のグループ展『THE COMMON – エチカを巡る旅』を開催いたします。
本展は、作家各々が持つ旅の断片を切り取り、その1つの生の結果から

構成された様態を炙り出し、共通なるものを探求することで私達自身、そして、取り巻く環境の実体に迫ります。
万物の究極的な原因=”エチカ”を知るということは、自然、神に触れ、私達を突き動かす自己原因を探求することです。
私達は非日常的な空間へと旅立ち、自然、神に触れ、多くのインスピレーションを得て新しい自分へ出会います。

本展では、旅によって誘引されたインスピレーションから制作された作品群がEYE OF GYRE に集結します。
写真、グラフィック、映像などその表現媒体は多岐に渡ります。作家各々が感じたインスピレーションによって制作された表象から『共通なるもの=THE COMMON』を探求することで、万物の究極的な原因=“エチカ”を炙り出します。

また、会期中は、異なる領域の創り手によるトークセッションを予定。
その邂逅から”制限と美”を抽出し『共通なるもの』を見出します。

Yoko K. (electronica) is an electronic musician, producer, engineer, and vocalist. Yoko’s sound, “Organic Electronica,” is a hybrid of analog and digital that an audience member once described as “listening to a dream.” “Yoko hovers above her contemporaries in this genre… truly the work of a visionary,” says Adam Harrington (Whisperin & Hollerin). Yoko’s self-produced first album, 012906 (Asahra Music, 2006), was nominated for “Best Album in Electronica” by the sixth Annual Independent Music Awards (2006). “Searching,” a single from this album, was awarded Grand Prize in the Eletconic Jazz Category by The Artist Forum Electronic Music Competition (2007). Yoko released her sophomore album Heaven’s Library in August 2011, which will be part of an in-flight music channel this year.

Born and raised in Japan, Yoko was classically trained in piano from age three, and nurtured as an electronic musician in Washington, D.C. She explores music as a way to harmonize dichotomies – nature and technology, emotion and logic, tradition and innovation. Yoko aspires to create music that is, to quote Beethoven, “the mediator between spiritual and sensual life.”

Yoko has been awarded a Young Artist Grant (2006), and a New Media and Audio Grant (2007) from the Washington, D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities. She performed at the Smithsonian Institution, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Irvine Contemporary, and the Embassies of Denmark and Finland. She has given guest lectures at the Communication, Culture and Technology Program at Georgetown University in 2007-2011, and gave a presentation at TEDxPotomac in May 2010. Artist’s News
[dNASAb] has been invited for a solo exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image, Queens, NY (website). A large sculptural work from the current exhibition at Irvine Contemporary will also be installed soon in the museum.

About the Artist
[dNASAb] has a BFA in Sculpture and Mixed Media from Florida State University, and was awarded an International Summer Residency at the Experimental Television Center, Owego, NY (2006), where he worked with the “Wobulator,” Nam Jun Paik’s pioneering video synthesizer. In 2010, [dNASAb] was awarded a scholarship at Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center, New York, and an Artist’s Residency at the Institute for Electronic Arts, Alfred University, New York. He was recently an Artist Honoree at the BRIC Contemporary Art Gala, 2010, “Brooklyn Art:Work”. [dNASAb] has exhibited widely in the past ten years, including exhibitions in New York, Moscow, Basel, Switzerland, Seoul, South Korea, and Paris. He produced a solo installation of new works at Volta, New York (March, 2011), and a solo exhibition in New York with Frederieke Taylor Gallery (2010). He is featured on the MoMA-P.S.1 “Studio Visit” site. He presented a video of his work in the “Contemporary Art + Social Media Art Salon,” Art Basel-Miami Beach (2009) [view video]. [dNASAb] will have a solo exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image, NY, next year. Four of his works were acquired by Microsoft for their permanent art collection. The artist lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

“We Are One” Fundraising Campaign for Japan tsunami victims

Artistes from FLY Entertainment, local artiste Nat Ho and a Japanese music composer have contributed pro bono in an awareness video to rally support for the “We Are One” campaign, which is raising funds for the Japan tsunami victims via a charity movie scr…eening of “Quill” on 26 April at Shaw Bugis Cineplex. 100% of proceeds goes to the Singapore Red Cross Society via the Japanese Association, Singapore, which is coordinating the relief and rebuilding efforts.

星めぐりの夜は、宮沢賢治の世界観をモチーフにしたスノードーム風 iPhone アプリです。
画面内に浮かぶカラフルな星たちに触れると、賢治の著作の断片を読むことができます。

自由に夜空を眺めながら賢治の世界に触れてみてください。

宮沢賢治について
日本の詩人、童話作家。（1896年8月27日 – 1933年9月21日）
郷土岩手の地を愛し、作品中に登場する架空の理想郷を、「岩手」をエスペラント風に読んだ「イーハトーヴ」と名づけた。
その独特の魅力にあふれた作品群によって、没後世評が急速に高まり国民的作家となった。
代表作に「銀河鉄道の夜」「風の又三郎」などがある。

宮沢賢治は作曲活動をしていたことでも知られています。
本アプリの曲は、賢治が作った「星めぐりの歌」という曲をベースにしています。

About Kenji Miyazawa
Kenji Miyazawa (27 August 1896 – 21 September 1933) was a Japanese poet and author of children’s literature in the early Shōwa period of Japan.He was also known as a devout Buddhist, vegetarian and social activist.Kenji’s major works also include “Night on the Galactic Railroad”,”Kaze no Matasaburō” etc.

About Sound

Kenji Miyazawa is also known as composer too. This application’s sound arranged “Hoshi Meguri no Uta” that Kenji made.It appears in Kenji’s writing “Futago no Hoshi” and “Night on the Galactic Railroad”, and people are familiar now.

winton white【Missing NRITA, a collaborative dance piece】

This is a dance piece that was performed on October 16th at a luggage boutique that I work at. It was a collaboration between me and 2 dancers (Natasha Warder and Miyako Abe). It was a success and all the guests that was drinking free sake looked like they were enjoying themselves.

The music itself was written so it is easy to dance to and easy to listen to (i.e. “easy listening”) so it has many repetitive sections. I gave this dance piece its title because of how much I miss Japan, and I think of the moment I arrive to Narita Airport (in Tokyo, Japan) is when I finally arrive home. November 9th was an exciting night for me as I had 2 different concerts of my pieces performed at once. I had 5 movements from my Piano Trio performed by students of Biola University. Art Outlet presents it’s fourth annual new media exhibition – two YouTube Salons.

This new media experience is brought to you in partnership with Northside Social and Arlington Independent Media (AIM). 8 Curators will share their YouTube clips of choice projected onto a large screen on Friday, August 20 & 27 from 9:30 pm – 10:30 pm with brief introductions, why they chose them. The entire event will be streamed live from our web site to a global audience and we will twitter during the event.
After all, it’s all about sharing!

YouTube is a video-sharing website, owned by Google, on which users can upload, share, and view videos. The company uses Adobe Flash Video technology to display a wide variety of user-generated video content, including movie clips, TV clips, and music videos, as well as amateur content such as video blogging and short original videos.

Most of the content on YouTube has been uploaded by individuals, although media corporations including CBS, the BBC, UMG and other organizations offer some of their material via the site, as part of the YouTube partnership program.

グラフィック、ウェブ、スペース、プロダクト等、様々な領域のデザイン・ディレクションを行うデザインプロダクトスタジオ「KOTENHITS」より、可愛らしく、且つコンセプチュアルなiPhone App「ANIMAL FONT」がリリースされた。
このANIMAL FONTは、環境問題をテーマにバルーンで作られた動物をフォント化した作品。
地球温暖化や様々な環境の変化で、生態系が著しく変化し、多くの動物が絶滅の危機に瀕している。
こうした問題の中、温暖化=熱という関連性から、熱によって変化が起きやすいバルーンで、危機に瀕している動物を形作っている。
そして、より具体性を持たせる為、この動物をフォント化し、メッセージとして人に伝える機能(Mailアドレスにメッセージを送れる)を持たせている。
また、SHAKER機能とよばれる仕組みもあり、様々なアニマルフォントを選択し、iPhoneを振ることで、動物たちの声にならないメッセージをサウンドで現している。
動物達が、共鳴し多くの笑顔、ピースが産まれる事を祈ろう。

Yoko K.
electronic musician, composer, producer, and vocalist.
Through the ephemeral soundscape she defines as “organic electronica,” Yoko aspires to mediate the sensual and spiritual life.

Born and raised in Japan, and classically trained since the age of three, Yoko learned to compose, arrange, mix, and perform electronic music in Washington DC, where she currently resides. Her first, self-produced album, “012906” (Asahra Music, USA, 2006), was nominated for “Best Album in Electronica” by the 6th Annual Independent Music Awards. In 2008, “this beast” (unpublished) became a finalist in the Electronic Music category at International Songwriting Competition.

As a recipient of Young Artist Grant (2006) and New Media and Audio Grant (2007) from the Washington DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Yoko has performed at venues such as the Corcoran Gallery of Art, thr Smithsonian Institution, the Japan Information and Cultural Center, and the Finnish Embassy.

Yoko works on art projects that facilitate positive social change, such as “Promoting Tolerance through Arts,” by the Meridian International Center and the Pink Line Project, and “Tap Project” by UNICEF World Water Week 09. She also gave a guest presentation at the Communication, Culture, and Technology Program at Georgetown University in 2007-9, as well as at TEDxPotomac in May 2010.

Multimedia performance by Ayo Ngozi at National Museum of African Art, Smithsonian Institution, on May 31, 2008. The performance was in conjunction with El Anatsui’s “Gawu” exhibition, featuring Ashley Brockington, Tosha Grantham, Takeyah Young (live human sculpture); Yoko K. (original music and sound design); Basel Action Network (video). Video / edit by Eric Channing (Dissident Display).

“from nothing” is a multimedia performance piece, inspired by and performed with El Anatsui’s exhibition of sculpture, “Gawu.” Conceptualized by a performing artist Ayo Ngozi, it was premiered at the National Museum of African Art at Smithsonian Institution on May 31st, 2008.

The performance is a multimedia experience of the African practice and genius of “making something out of nothing,” while it also criticizes the continued devastation of the African environment – by the West, with the complicity of African enterprise. The performance refers to the ongoing, massive dumping of toxic waste from abroad in Africa as a metaphor of a larger destruction. It also speaks to the possibilities of transformation.

A collaborative score with Japanese composer Yoko K. creates a rich soundscape, incorporating live digital sound captured during the performance, to create an improvisational audio environment that organically grows as the performance unfolds. “from nothing” also includes video images provided by Basel Action Network, the world’s only organization focused on confronting environmental injustice globally and the detrimental economic impact of toxic trade (poison waste products and technologies).

“from nothing” is a conversation about over-consumption and waste – and the redemption found in artistic practice that creates new from old, beauty from detritus, and life where is least expected.

新年明けましてあめでとうございます。
ＥＴＵＤＥＬＬＰ　代表の佐藤晋之です。

旧年中、大変お世話になりましたお客様、関係者の皆様方に厚く御礼お申し上げます。

新しい年を迎えるにあたり、私はじめ従業員一同より一層気を引き締め臨んでいく所存でございます。

何卒ご倍旧のご愛顧を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。

この度、弊社所属アーティストの佐藤礼央の三部作第２弾「風と緑のぬくもりを」の発売日が１月５日発売となりました。

そして、３月には三部作の他に未発表曲を含む５年ぶりのオリジナルベストアルバムのリリースが決定しております。

また、１月８日（金）より１月１３日（水）まで六本木ヒルズ・テレビ朝日本社１階のけやき坂に面したイベントスペース

「umu」にてMERRYの個展「Tento展」が開催されます。

MERRYは、雑誌の表紙、Bunkamuraのポスターなどを手掛け、東京、大阪、ベルリン・上海・メルボルン・シンガポールなど国内外で、

エキシビジョンを行うなど国際的に注目を集めるアートプロジェクトユニットです。

ウェブ以外ではなかなか見ることのできないMERRYの世界観を全身で感じられる空間となる筈です。

佐藤礼央がサウンドデザインを手がけ透明感のある音楽で空間を包みます。

是非、ご来場くださいませ。

皆様のこの一年が素晴らしい年でありますよう、心より祈念して新年のごあいさつとさせていただきます。

The first CD of Piano series both Japanese and Western styles will
be released in the middle of October In mid-October 2009,
Leo Sato will release his first part of the triptych “She will still keep dreaming”.
Also he will plan to release the second CD in December, the third one in February 2010.

and people are losing the mind of respecting the individuality.However,
